Ask-a-Doc: Can I Get an Injection for My Back Pain?
Discover how injections can alleviate back pain and why they’re not always the definitive solution by Dr. Snook at JIS Orthopedics in New Albany, Ohio.
Hello, I’m Dr. Michael Morris.
When you meet with the general medical consultants, they will review your medications with you. So, please bring a list with you—not only the names of the medications, but also how often you take them and their dosing.
They’ll be reviewed comprehensively at the time of that pre-admission testing and the medications that need to be stopped. As an example, anti-inflammatory medications will be instructed at that visit.
If there are blood thinners you’re on, they’ll instruct you when those need to be stopped prior to the operation. We’ll also tell you which medications to take on the morning of the operation.
If you would like to know more about what medications to take before your surgery, contact us at JIS Orthopedics. Our specialists in New Albany and St. Clairsville, Ohio, can give you the answers you are looking for. Schedule a visit with us today!
