Ask-a-Doc: Why Should You Choose Outpatient Surgery?
Discover why outpatient surgery is the smarter choice. Learn from Dr. Michael Morris about benefits like quicker pain relief and lower infection risks.
Hello, I’m Dr. Michael Morris.
When you meet with the general medical consultants, they will review your medications with you. So, please bring a list with you—not only the names of the medications, but also how often you take them and their dosing.
They’ll be reviewed comprehensively at the time of that pre-admission testing and the medications that need to be stopped. As an example, anti-inflammatory medications will be instructed at that visit.
If there are blood thinners you’re on, they’ll instruct you when those need to be stopped prior to the operation. We’ll also tell you which medications to take on the morning of the operation.
