Ask-a-Doc:
What Kind of Anesthesia Will I Be Given During My Surgery?

Play Video about Dr. Keith Berend speaking about the type of anesthesia given during surgery.

Transcript:

Hi, I’m Dr. Keith Berend

The surgeries are performed under general, spinal, or peripheral nerve block (or a blockade), or a combination of those. You’ll meet with the anesthesiologist on the morning of surgery to discuss the options and the recommendations of both the surgeon and the anesthesiologist.

Occasionally, the family doctor, the primary care doctor, or our general medical consultants will recommend a specific type of anesthesia based on other medical conditions.

If you would like to know more about the type of anesthesia that will be used during your surgery, be sure to contact us at JIS Orthopedics. Our specialists in New Albany and St. Clairsville, Ohio can give you the peace of mind you deserve. Schedule a visit with us today!
