Ask-a-Doc: What is an E.O.B.?
Unlock the mystery of E.O.B.s with Dr. Zachary Byrd from JIS Orthopedics. Learn what an explanation of benefits is and what those numbers really mean.
Hello, I’m Dr. Jason Hurst from JIS Orthopedics.
For our patients, therapy typically starts on the day of surgery. We’re very aggressive with getting our patients up within 2 to 3 hours after surgery.
We expect almost all of our patients to undergo physical therapy with an outpatient physical therapy clinic, which typically starts within 48 hours of departure from the surgery center or the hospital.
For knee replacements and hip replacements, physical therapy typically lasts about 6 weeks. For shoulder replacements, it’s typically about 10 to 12 weeks of physical therapy. That also includes shoulder repairs, like rotator cuff repairs or labral repairs.
If you would like to know more about your physical therapy sessions, contact us at JIS Orthopedics. Our specialists in New Albany and St. Clairsville, Ohio, can give you the answers you are looking for. Schedule a visit with us today!
